Is NHL.com trustworthy?

For reference, the article in question is:

NHL Article

It summarizes the beginning of the National Hockey League; from the first meeting of board members, to the end of the first season.

The first thing I did to learn about the source was going on Wikipedia, but I couldn’t find a post for the website, only the league itself. So then I went on twitter and discovered that the twitter did have the checkmark signifying it is the official hockey twitter.

The next thing I did was go to other sites to see if they recounted this history similarly, which brought me to this article

NHL – The Early Years (1917-1941)

Even though it is more broad, the parts relating to the first year matches to the NHL.com article. Next I went to Wikipedia;

Wikipedia

Which also reported similar events.

I believe the article in question, is true!

NHL

One of the things I am most passionate about is the sport of Ice Hockey. Hockey is fun to play and you can create connections to the people around you talking and playing it. The National Hockey League (NHL) is perhaps the biggest, professional league in the world! The NHL was formed in 1917 after the collapse of the National Hockey Association. At the start, there were only 4 teams, the Montreal Canadians; Montreal Wanderers;  Ottawa Senators; and Toronto Arenas. After the NHL was formed, there were not any expansion teams until 1924, when the Boston Bruins joined the league. It further expanded when the Pittsburgh Pirates joined in 1925. Three more teams joined in 1926, being the New York Rangers; Chicago Black Hawks; and Detroit Falcons. Pittsburgh and New York later dropped out. By 1942, the NHL consisted of only six teams, the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leaf’s. It stayed this way until 1967! When the league doubled its teams. The NHL has sometimes been criticized for its predominantly white players. Wille O’Ree was the first Black player in the NHL. When he debuted with Bostin in 1958, When he stepped on the ice, he changed the sport forever.
