Communications 

In English 10, we did literacy circles where we would discuss things that happened in the book Indian horse, which was an excellent example of communication because I demonstrated that I could explain my thoughts about the book and my perspective with others. When the others present what they think I engage and try to connect the book, to me, and the world.  I’ve grown the most in my communications since we would do this every week, and this helped me figure out what I needed to improve for the nest discussion and eventually by the last literacy circles it was the smoothest discussion we had and most engaging. 

Creative Thinking 

Next, I will focus on developing my communication competency especially while presenting because I feel like I need to present in a more organized way rather than jumbling everything up. I also must work on my volume when presenting because sometimes I am to quite without realizing. Lastly, I need to work on my fluidity because I say umm and stutter a lot.

In  Socials 10, I did this captivity where we had to make a journal as if we were a soldier in the war which was a great example of creative thing because I demonstrated that I could develop. The ideas of another people by trying to think out of the box and in the perspective of the soldier. I knew the circumstances but the emotion I had to analyze and create on my own based on the circumstances. I also did an activity where we had to demonstrate what happened in the Holocaust by making a poster and representing it by drawing which I believe is an are I need to improve my critical thinking because I find it difficult to visualize who to layout all my thoughts with out writing it out. I also had to figure out how to use all the space which often conflicted with the symbols I wanted to add. 

COMMUNICATION 

One of my strengths is communicating because when we are in groups, I try my best to contribute and share my ideas. For example, in French class, we would do discussion about a book called “Où est ma maison” in this discussion I would share my ideas on the character and share my opinions about what happened in the book. I also shared connections in my life to the book. I also showed my communication in math class when we would have to for math question on the white bord in class. In these groups I would try to do the questions with my knowledge while asking the others if they had any other ideas or ways. Sometimes, we wouldn’t agree so I let them show what they were thinking and sometimes they were right so I would ask them to explain. I would ask them questions if I didn’t understand. If they were wrong, I would try to explain what I would do differently, and I would explain why. Some of my weaknesses in this category is that when questions are asked to the class, I do not answer enough questions as I am hesitant to get them wrong. I will work on this skill by raising my questions even if I am not sure about the question.  

CREATIVE THINKING 

Some of my strengths in creative thinking is that I can create ideas and execute these ideas. For example, in business and entrepreneurship, we had to make a product to repel bugs, but it had to be something new, and it had to be functional. We also had to make it an affordable product. So, in this process, we had many obstacles while making this product because it was too expensive to make, so we had to change something so that it would be affordable but because of that the aesthetic we went for wasn’t there anymore. So, to make sure it was still there we changed our logo and designs so it would make it so that it wasn’t noticeable. Some ways I create new ideas is brainstorming so I would brainstorm everything that needed to be in the product then I did research on things that would help me achieve these goals while writing them down than based on my research I made the product. Another way I use to make ideas is looking at other examples than I use those to help me make ideas based on them so that they aren’t repeated but the goals are similar. Lastly, a weakness of mine is that sometimes I am not able to show my thinking and I don’t put enough detail in them while executing them or explaining them. I will work on this skill by asking people questions about what is unclear and what they don’t have a full understanding of so that I can add and show it.
