My awareness of Coast Salish Art has changed because before I thought that they were simply animal drawings with shapes in them. After this project I learned that each animal has a significance behind each animal for example the hummingbird symbolizes joy. Another example was that the salmon was the giver because it provides a lot in indigenous cultures. Lastly, I learned that the shapes were used to replicate the features of the animals. Overall now I have a better understanding of Coast Salish. This has also increased my admiration for Coast Salish Art’s beauty, stories, and uniqueness.

The topic I chose was what are the best desserts. In the notes, I wrote about the distinct varieties of tastes and textures. While trying to figure out what makes the best desserts I saw that some of the key elements were uniqueness, balance, and of course taste. Some of the most favoured desserts have some combination you wouldn’t expect such as dark chocolate wafers with lemon grass sorbet. I believe this makes it stand out from the rest and to be memorable. Then for balance, another dessert I found while researching was the coconut and spiced pineapple tarts it includes coconut, passion fruit, pineapple and sugar which makes it overly sugary but the bay cream helps balance out the sweetness so that you can have more than one and still keep going!

• My experience with AI was very convenient because not only does it respond in seconds but the information is very detailed and if you don’t like it you can just ask it to write something different it is very understanding and follows directions very well.

Verifying source:

First, I did a Google search to verify the source asking if NBC News was a reliable source. There I found some statistics of how biased and how reliable they were, and according to the website they were generally good. NBC had a score of reliability: 43.89 Bias: -5.80 on the website Ad Fontes Media it said “reliability scores for articles and shows are on a scale of 0-64. Scores above 40 are generally good; scores below 24 are generally problematic. Scores between 24-40 indicate a range of possibilities” indicating it was reliable but not the most reliable. This website also gave some example of articles that weren’t reliable and were reliable from NBC.

Fact-checking:

Next, I tried to use Snopes to fact check ,but I couldn’t find anything related to the appearance of cicadas in 2024.

Second, I used media smart where there was many articles claiming the same as Snopes.

Thirdly I tried searching for other reliable sources claiming the same or similar thing. Where i found many other sources including CNN News, USA Today, and I also found a page by the University of Connecticut explaining more throughly what may happen.

Lastly, I searched it up again but I added hoax and fake at the end of the search. Nothing appeared saying it was fake or hoax but it said it was official.

Finally this article is TRUE.

For TOKTWD I went to work with my dad. There I didn’t do much, but I got to do some paperwork and open envelopes. I  learned how to make bank deposits and use Microsoft Excel. I also made some coffee for the other employees. Even though I didn’t do much it was fun helping out and meeting new people. Additionally, I learned a lot of marketing, advertising skills and customer service skills as well.

1. What did you hear, see, smell, and feel in the work environment on Nov. 1st?

I smelt a lot of paper and coffee. I saw people working, computer, meetings, papers, envelopes, and files. I heard people talking, the printer printing, typing, papers flipping and the coffee machine.

2. What about the environment would motivate you to wake up every day to attend work?

I would make money and I would have a lot of friends because the work environment is very welcoming. I should be a part of a company’s growth which motivates me because I would like the company to be successful.

3. What about the work environment would discourage you from waking up every day to attend work?

There’s a lot of paperwork and a lot of calculating, which is very boring to me.

4. What is ONE thing you found interesting about your workplace visit?

I found learning how to use excel interesting and making bank deposits.
