Communication
In Soccer, I have done many games and practices with my teammates which is an excellent example of communication because we must use communication to our advantage. During practice or games, communication in a key factor is succeeding as a team because there is communication on the pitch and off. When you are on the pitch, communication helps others and others can help you, for example, if my teammate has the ball, I can communicate on the incoming players attempting to get the ball.
There is also communication off the pitch. One of these examples is reflection. This is primarily used by coaches to critique the plays and helps us understand what we did and what we could have done. For example, after a tough game the coach talks to us and asks us what went wrong. We all self reflect and point out things that we could have done better and help each other understand how we can better ourselves.
One example that I could use is me winning the Provincial Cup a couple years ago. During the league time, we constantly asked the coaches what we could do better so we can prepare for the provincials. Throughout the games, we learned our mistakes and changed so we got better. Eventually, we made it to the finals and won by the eighth round of penalties. After the tournament, the coaches asked if us if there was anything would work on. We all answered and concluded that there is always something to learn, and communication can help pass along those learning opportunities.
Creative thinking.
When I play soccer during practices and games, I find that I use creative thinking during them. I noticed that thinking creatively is a key component in being unpredictable to your opponents. One example that I can give is learning new moves or strategies. When I am being taught something new, it gives me the opportunity to improve in some way, but I can further improve when I take those lessons and give them my own twist to them.
One time that I used creative thinking was making my signature move. When I was in training, my coach was teaching us new moves to use during games and I saw that I liked one. I noticed that the move was difficult for me to do because I am tall, so I mixed it with another move and now it was easy for me to use and unpredictable to the opponents.
Social responsibility
In soccer, I find that I use social responsibility. Soccer is a social game because you must work with coaches and teammates which is sometimes hard, but if you take responsibility, it can make playing easier. One example is communication with teammates and leaving a good impression. When you are playing a game for example, you must prove yourself to your teammates to be reliable with the ball so communication is key. If you give a good impression and take responsibility in making a good connection with your teammates, it will allow you to do more things.
One example of this is when I first got promoted to Division 1. When I was new to the team, not many people knew me, so I did not have the connection that my teammates already had, but after some talking and communication, almost everybody knew me.
