Connecting Core Competencies:
A core competency that I think fit in well with this assignment was the critical thinking one. I chose critical thinking because as I did this project, I had to design and develop ideas, question what to add next and investigate more options to add, and analyze and critique my work. Designing with Canva has been new to me and every time I open it, more opportunities shot at me, letting me experiment with the recourses given to me. This assignment was to explore Canva and test the windows it gave me.
Learning from Digital Tools:
I learned after opening this assignment that I can create slideshows in Canva, but also things like collages, posters, websites, videos, and much more. Canva had a wide variety of pictures and graphics but one thing I found challenging was how there wasn’t all the pictures I wanted so I had to draw them in. This wasn’t that challenging but it would’ve been more helpful if there were a more advanced collection of images.
Application in Other Courses:
Canva could be used for any projects, assignments, and in any subject. If you think PowerPoint is too general or boring, Canva is also a great tool you can access. There are many options you can use, such as slideshows, posters, videos, a website, and many more. This source can help me use different templates in class and presentations when it comes to making an information board to speech slidshows in the background.
Overall, I had a great experience with Canva and I would 100% use it again.
