Mario Lemieux is someone who I am very passionate about as he has beat many injuries, cancer and is one of the best hockey players to ever play. First off, Lemieux battling many diseases is something that motivates others because as he showed that after beating Hodgkin’s lymphoma and still being one of the best hockey players is possible, it shows that if you try hard enough, you can beat what you need. Lemieux after beating cancer continued to be the superstar as he was before. On the first game he played in a year and a half, Lemieux helped the penguins win with four assists for a total of four points for the night. Lemieux also saved the Pittsburgh Penguins from closing as when they filed for bankruptcy, Lemieux bought them, and with Lemieux trying to get money for the team, he had to lower the costs of players. With Lemieux being one of the best, many players would just play for him because he is Lemieux. The reason I like Lemieux so much is he has done many things that aren’t just hockey related. Some things are the way he shaped hockey to make it what it is today, without him the penguins wouldn’t be a team today as well he shows no matter if you’re injured or sick, there is always a chance to beat it.
