Hi, I’m Eunice, a grade 9 student at Charles Best Secondary. I am in the French program, which I started in grade 6. I am in Band 9/10 and Choir. I enjoy sports, mostly Speed Skating, Volleyball, Badminton, and Swimming. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, and editing! I find everything that has happened in 2020 so far very interesting; the Pandemic, Wildfires, Protests… I think they’re all very valuable lessons, so 2020 hasn’t really been the worst year (Or maybe it’s just quarantine that drove me crazy. :P). I LOVE listening to music, usually Classical, Acoustic, and Pop music, depending on my mood and what I am doing. Travelling is a treat for me, I love seeing new places and learn new things (not really academically), but I do not like moving because I don’t like leaving things behind. So far, High School has been the best, even with the Pandemic. Stay safe and wash your hands!

I personally can’t agree more with this quote, because I have had first hand experience with this countless times. In my opinion, most humans are naturally greedy creatures, everything we own and have in our life isn’t enough until we lose it or until it’s a part of the past. This quote reminds me to be grateful for what I have every moment of everyday, because regretting isn’t going to get anything back.
Favorite YouTube Video: My favorite YouTube video is one an animatic of a Minecraft war. SAD-ist, the creator of this animatic, pieced the audio together from VODs (Stream Archives) and matched the epic lines with the music. The music in the video is from Warriors by Imagine Dragons covered by 2WEI, which has really cool beat drops and amazing parts of the song that are intense and dramatic.
I really like this video because I enjoyed watching even the raw VODs that were unedited, and SAD-ist is an amazing animator who made it so much better. The animation itself is just INCREDIBLE. Every little detail is heart-clutchingly amazing, and the expressions are perfectly on point. The art is simplistic but meaningful, I really like it. (*NOTE: CONTAINS SWEARING*)
A Picture that has Impacted Me: The photo below is a photo of one of my first races as a Speed Skater. Speed Skating has been a very important part of my life since I joined, because it is a sport I love with my friends who I also love. The sport has given me something to look forward to during a dreadfully long week with a lot of stress, it gives me something else to focus on other than academics. Maybe I’m just weird, but being physically tired from working hard is a nice feeling. It gives me a strong rush of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Favorite Website: My favorite website is Wikipedia, I know a lot of people say it’s bad and that anyone can change the content, but from my experience, that is not true. Wikipedia is a really useful site with a lot of worldwide knowledge, history, and much more data. To change the content on a page, you need to go through some procedures, like listing the reference sites, editors and moderators, and grammar checks. So far, most of the things I have found on Wikipedia is true, with basically no bias, and it has helped with a lot of my personal and school projects.
