Q3 proud assignment

My proud assignment this quarter came in French class, where for the first unit we studied and learned about french fables, and how we can create our own implicating real world issues in these fun children’s fables. So for the final assignment in this unit, we had to do exactly that, so I chose a real world issue of homelessness and crafted it into a short story about how a big bear forcefully stole an owl’s home from him. I’m proud of this assignment because I feel like it was some of my finest story telling work, and that I did well in creating this world and these characters. On top of that, i was proud with the amount of revision and correcting I did from the first draft to the final product which turned out pretty good.

Here is my final product:

Break The Fake- Article claiming Beethoven had his hearing until the rest of his life.

This is the original article written By  The Guardian, I am going to figure out if Beethoven actually had his hearing for his final symphony.

I went to Wikipedia and searched “The Guardian” to verify the validity of the website. I figured out that they were a credible news a nd media company from the UK which has been around  since 1999, so I knew that they were quite trustworthy.

Finally, I checked on other reliable source linked to this topic and found out that the article was true.

So in conclusion the original article turned out to be true.

Q2 Proud Assignment

At first I felt as that I wouldn’t be able to find a project or assignment that I was proud of because my two classes were P.E and Communications. Obviously P.E doesn’t involve many projects, but when I thought about all the work that we did in communications, I was able to find a project that I am proud of. It was a Podcast project, where as you may have deduced, we had to write a script for a podcast on whatever topic we wanted, and we had to then record it and present it to the class. It was in partners and me and my group chose to talk about sports during Covid-19, both professional and local. I’m mainly proud of the project because when it was first explained to us, it sounded like a lot of work had to be done, but I soon figured out that we had a lot to say about our topic and when it was all said and done we had nearly 1000 words. Secondly, I’m proud of the quality of our delivery and recording. The final product on a project like this could sound quite cringe and yet when we were done it sounded quite professional and official. In the end I was not only proud of our work, but we also ended up getting the highest grade in the class.

Assignment #3 Information Fluency- Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven was born sometime in December 1770. From a very young age, he was set upon the art of music and was taught by his father and grandfather. Right from the beginning, it was made clear that he was a prodigal talent when it came to the early recordings of him playing different instruments such as the piano. Supposedly even Mozart himself, had told his friends to keep an eye out for Beethoven because he believed that Ludwig would without a doubt one give the world something to talk about. From there on, Beethoven only become a better musician, composer and overall genius of the art. He continued to write pieces and they became more and more known across Europe. Beethoven never married, but he did supposedly love a woman named Elisabeth Rockel, who was married to another composer. It turned out that Beethoven had planned to ask her to marry him but it never came to fruition. However, he did write Fur Elise, which is on of his most acclaimed pieces and was dedicated to Elisabeth Rockel. Then when he was 44 years old, Beethoven went completely deaf, but nonetheless he fought the bitter thoughts that his deafness had caused and used it create intense and dark compositions. However it never helped him in his social interactions, but in the final 10 years of his life he was so stuck to his profession that it became his only escape. In the closing years of his life and career, he inspired many and became the head of classical music and overall the head of the art in all the German-speaking countries. He showed that no matter your limitations, you can achieve greatness, and today he is one of the most admired composers in the history on western music.

English 9- Movie essay

In English 9, we had to write an essay answering some highly detailed questions referring to a native New Zealand film which we watched in class, called Whale Rider.

I enjoyed this assignment, firstly because we got the opportunity to watch a movie in class, which we don’t really do very often, and even though I knew there was an essay to be written after we were done, I still enjoyed it. Secondly, I’m proud about this assignment because I devoted a lot of time, to write multiple drafts and to make it better every time. Plus, I’m proud of it, because my work paid off and I received an A.
