An Assignment I’m Proud Of. (Quarter 3)

This assignment was for my Communications class. We were supposed to create a podcast and it had to last 6-9 minutes long. I did it with my friend Bradyn and our podcast was about the show Wandavision. We discussed some theories and what happened in the beginning of this series. We made two episodes. I’m proud of this assignment because it took a long time to make and I think we did a good job on it. It was fun to make and I think our french sounded pretty good in the recording. I’m also proud of the editing and how we incorporated the theme song. This is a picture of our podcast cover:

Break the Fake

I found an article stating that the first archeological proof of dance, was in cave painting in India. I wanted to find out if that fact was true, being that the source was “Not Secure”. I decided to fact check. I followed 4 steps: Check wikepedia, check for similar information from different sources, search for the subject and the word hoax, check the source of the information for credibility.

1. The article: dancefacts.net.

2. Check Wikepedia.

3. Check for similar information.

4. Search “dance cave painting hoax”.

5. Check the source of the information (sciencedaily).

Overall I believe the statement made in this article (dancefacts.net) to be TRUE.

An Assignment I’m Proud Of. (Quarter 2)

This assignment was from my Quarter 2 Math 9 class. It reflected our knowledge of graphing points and lines. In this assignment we had to use the points given to us, as well as creating our own, graph the lines and then colour in the empty spaces to create a “stained glass” looking art piece. I chose to use watercolour because I really like the way it looks on paper. I know the lines may not be perfect and it might not totally look like stained glass, but I do feel it looks like art and I’m proud of it. I had fun making it and I’m proud of the effort I put into it and of course, the mark I got on it.

Dance

One of the many passions I have is dance. Dance is often performed with music to keep a beat or rhythm. It is an interesting form of expression and communication. Many cultures and religions use dance as a form of storytelling and to express emotions. There are different genres of dance that can contrast each other, such as, modern dance and ballet. Modern Dance originated in Europe, contrasting ballet, which was already popular in the 19th century. I believe, the different styles of dance, each represent a culture and/or emotion. There are some more intense dances that can represent sadness or anger and there are other dances that tend to be less intense, or even the same intensity but conveying a different emotion with them. Dance is also a great form of exercise. It’s good cardio and its super fun to do. I personally enjoy dance because I feel free and happy when dancing. Another reason I enjoy it is because there is so much variety in dance and there is so much more to it than just moving around to music. There is art, a story, an emotion, and a culture behind every genre. Many people can enjoy dance and there is no right or wrong way to do so.

An Assignment I’m Proud Of:

One of my first quarter classes was Foods 9 and an assignment I’m proud of was when we made mac and cheese. It was very tasty and fun to make with my group. It was for a mac and cheese off, competition. We each brought something to add to the dish. I brought parsley. We also added broccoli, bacon, and lots of extra cheese. We didn’t win but the judges said they liked the parsley because it added detail. My whole group worked really well together and followed the recipe perfectly. Everything ran smoothly. It was one of our last foods assignments, before the end of the quarter, so it felt really special.
