Food final assignment

Beef avocado burgers

The dish I cooked today was Beef avocado burgers for my family. I picked this dinner item because my family and I are a big fan of burgers and fries. We make different recipe every week. This week we had some avocado in our fridge so decided to come up with recipe that includes avocado.

The story behind having burger and fries on every Friday because it’s our treat day. My family eats healthy meals all week long. Every week we check any leftover produce, meat etc. and we come up with creative recipe. We make variety of sauces to go with the burgers.

Originally, we make beef burgers but this week I made changes to this recipe because we had some ground pork in the fridge.  I find burgers were juicer and flavorful when I added ground pork and ground beef together. OfCourse, I added eggs, breadcrumbs, minced onions, BBQ sauce, ketchup, chili peppers, Dijon mustard, kosher salt and pepper. There are a lot of flavors blended to make this delicious burger.

I have learnt that you can create a recipe from your refrigerator is that simple. You just must have creative thinking. I never knew avocados on burgers will taste so good. Also, my mom’s idea of mixing two meats together was a great idea because fat from pork makes burger juicy. I thought burger can be only made by beef or chicken.  Other thing I learnt is that using leftover meats and vegetable save money on food budget.

Finally, I cooked my burger patties on barbeque. My mom told me to flip burger only once on barbeque, so it doesn’t lose its juices. When burgers internal temperature was 170F I took them of the grill. We put chipotle mayo on both side of the bun and added onion, tomatoes, cheese, spinach avocados as toppings in the burger. We served with store-bought  fries which we made in the actifry.

Microbit progress part 1

My partner and I will be making a light sensor on your water bottle it will turn blue so you know when you should drink water. It will turn on every hour to remind you to drink water so you are not hydrate. When we code it on our micro-bites if you see a red heart and that means that you are good but if you see a H on your micro-bites that means that you are really hydrate and you must drink water. The problem for this project is that you don’t drink enough water.
