Week 7: food blog

The dish i chose to write about is a fiesta rice bowl, which is a healthy brown rice bowl with beans, corn, tomatoes, onion, spices and you can add whatever other veggies you want to it.

The story behind this dish is i was trying to get as close to a dish i had tried in a restaurant. it was a homemade family restaurant secret so i had been trying to look up different recipes and get as close as i could to the one i had tried prior. I had struggled to find the recipe but i finally found something close to it and ith a few adjustments it could be spot on the the original one that i had tried.

My family loved it and actually asked me to make it a couple times again with extra to have for dinner and lunch so that was good. And i found it turned out quite close to the original. i would add more foods to it to make it have more colojr and flavour. Also more seasonings such a chili seasoning and chipotle seasoning, i put in theĀ  second time i made the dish, really added to the flavour and real fiesta feel of the dish. Another thing you could add is avocado which i think would been nice.

I learned how to cook using a pressure cooker because my mom had just bought one and i have been wanting to try a recipe in it for a while but i wanted to find a easy one that i had all the ingredients for. I learned new cooking skills with the settings of the way the cooker works.
