- Review the Employability Skills listed, describe the skills you currently have and how you used them in the activities.
For the yarn game, I had to use my memory skills and a few of my communication skills and listening skills. I used my memory skills when I had to remember the previous two person’s names and what they described themselves. I then spoke out that information. I used the listening skills with my memory skills to listen and remember the information. I won’t remember if I don’t hear clearly. I had forgotten what the person liked and thus had to use my communication skills to ask them what they spoke.
For the human knot game, I used my problem solving and teamwork and flexibility and adaptability skills. When I was knotted, I had to think up a way to unknot us and tell this to others. We worked together to try to unknot. Whwen my plan didn’t work, U was flexible and adaptable and listened and did what others suggested to do. At last, we were unknotted.
2. Discuss the skills that you would like to work on and what you can do to improve or practice them so that you are employable in the future.
The skills that I would like to work on are my professionalism and time management skills. I always waste my time on unnecessary actions like slacking off or not doing what I was supposed to be doing. And most times waste time was when I didn’t make up a schedule and didn’t know what work to start working on and had to think. In the future, I will try to make a schedule to manage my time better and more efficiently. If I do this a lot and make a habit of managing time and don’t have to use a schedule in the future, I will be more professional and be more employable. For professionalism, I am always easygoing and like to make jokes and play around. I don’t think that is acceptable in most careers, and I’ve been trying to be more professional in terms of working and when I am in class. I will achieve this by focusing on what’s being taught and performed in front of me, and not to talk a lot about irrelevant topics. As time go by, I think I will be more serious in working and be more professional.
