The reason I chose this quote is because of how many aspects of my life that it applies to. Whenever I’m feeling stressed I always take a step back and remember this quote. It was written by an ancient chinese scholar who endured the many hardships of life in his time, including being persecuted by his own government. This allowed him to have a unique perspective on human nature, and I think that everyone could learn something from his sayings.

It’s a really impactful clip that really highlights the human tendency to help others and come together despite our differences. My uncle was involved in a very similar situation so this video showcases the destructive power that waves can have when stranded at sea and how dangerous an seemingly harmless object can be.

This piece explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and counter-terrorism. With influences as diverse as Kierkegaard and Francis Bacon, new tensions are distilled from both opaque and transparent meanings.
The idea that beauty is ephemeral is highlighted in this painting, as a thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts. It showcases how the purest form of happiness is only observed in the moment, as it may not exist in the next.
