- Review the Employability Skills listed, describe the skills you currently have and how you used them in the activities.
I used teamwork and worked well in the diverse environment of my human knot group, because I didn’t know or wasn’t friends with them. I still made an effort to be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude so that my group would feel comfortable enough to work together effectively. I was professional in our name web, because I respectfully and silently listened to others. I demonstrated my ability to problem solve and think critically when undoing the name web by throwing the yarn to the person who threw it to me at the start. I used interpersonal communication when discussing with my human knot group on how to unravel the knot.
2. Discuss the skills that you would like to work on and what you can do to improve or practice them so that you are employable in the future.
I would like to work on my time management, flexibility and adaptability, and ability to accept and integrate criticism and feedback. I can improve my time management by making detailed schedules and reminders for myself so that I stay focused on the task and finish it in a timely manner. I can work on my flexibility and adaptability by putting myself in situations where I don’t know the people that I am working with, like volunteering for the city or joining school clubs, so that adapting to new things and being flexible will be something I get used to. Finally, I can get better at accepting and integrating criticism and feedback by asking my peers to review my schoolwork. This will help me find integrating and accepting criticism normal, so that I can improve myself in many ways.
