Reflection on Media Fluency

1.What is the underlying message in the video?

The underlying message in this scene is that Arnold stands up to Rowdy and learns from his past and has become a stronger person. Shows what we know about the plot, characters and conflict.

2.What emotion/action/outcome was this message meant to cause?

The outcome of this scene was that if you have hope, you can do what you want. Arnold didn’t believe in his self in the beginning of the book, but by the basketball game at the end, he believed in his self after the coach helped him and encouraged him and he beat Wellpinit.

3.Where is the opinion or bias in the message, if any?

There is no opinion or bias in this scene.

4.What about the medium (in this case video) is effective for its purpose?

Filming a video was really effective because it’s a visual and you can understand more by seeing rather than just listening. You can understand scenes more by a visual perspective.

5.What about the medium (in this case video) is ineffective for its purpose?

It’s ineffective how it’s on a screen, I think performing live would have made the scenes more fun and understandable. The audience could have been more involved and connected too.

6.Is there any other medium (technology platform) that would be effective for this project?

I feel like there are some morer technology platforms but iMovie is the most understandable for us, so we used it.
