Quatre 3 proud of assignment!

In this post, I will be talking about a Q3 assignment that I am very proud of. In quarter 3, I had Math 9 and Graphics 9, and I have quite a hatred for math so I will be talking about the brand assignment we were given in Graphics! Graphics was very enjoyable, from the frustrating photoshop moments to the moments of understanding, everything was enjoyable. In this class, we were given a task to brainstorm, draw out construct and finalize a brand idea for an iPhone Wrap.  Now, at first, this project seemed very scary as I didn’t know what I would design for my brand that would best represent me. But thankfully, we were given steps to help aid our journey on creating a brand design. We first started with looking deeper into ourselves, writing a biography abut our lives and what makes us, us. We wrote about our  beginnings, where we’re from, our passions and even what we wouldn’t want others to know. This would help guide us for looking what’s most important to us, what’s most important in our sponge and bucket. The next step was to gather images and adjectives of what best describes us. Narrowing those images and adjectives down, we were left with things that would help create our brand.

Now, I would be lying if I said I did not like tea. Green tea, black tea, Jasmine, Oolong, I love it all! The flavor and warmth from the tea I drink helps calm me down when needed, so I thought… why not design a teacup? Designing the actual thing was definitely a pain, but I learned lots and overcomes many frustrating events. Seeing how it turned out, I can say that I am extremely proud. Of course, it’s not perfect and needs much working on, but there is always room for improvement. This is why I chose this assignment as my the one I am most proud of in Q3, because whenever I look at it, I feel that this design truly best represents me and my artistic style.

And here it is! Thank you for reading my post and I am very sorry if the image turned out blurry!! Have a great day!

Quarter 2 Proud of assignment

Welcome back to my blog!

In this blog, I will be sharing an assignment from Q2 that I am proud of. During the second quarter, I had English which was very interesting and fun! We wrote a lot of compositions and essays, we even read a few short stories and a novel. English very enjoyable for me and I decided to share my “Lyric analysis” project because it is the project that I am most proud of!

For this lyric analysis project, I decided to analyze the song “Oh my God” by (G)I-DLE. The reason why I chose this song is not only because of the many literary devices that could be found in the song, but because of the meaning and themes expressed. I wont go into a whole big explanation about the song and all its meanings, so to keep it short this song is about expressing love for someone of the same gender. The lyrics depict how the narrator knows that if she falls into temptation and loves this girl, that it will become a deadly “sin” and poison that she wont be able to escape from, but the narrator finally accepts who they are and regardless of whatever she’s told, she falls into the “deadly temptation”. The writer wrote such an interestingly inclusive LGBTQ+ song, depicting how some extreme religious exercises can make one not accept who they truly are.

And this is why I am so proud of this project! I was able to find many literary devices and use it as evidence to further confirm my interpretation of the song. I filled in almost every single line of this song with literary devices and described them to the best of my abilities. I truly feel that I went above and beyond the rubric and made an analysis that was not only worth reading but made sense and showed that I understood the literary terms. I also felt extremely proud because I was able to use this project to spread awareness about how even in these socially advanced ages that the LGBTQ+ community are still discriminated against in a lot of countries and about how that discrimination causes doubt within the community about their identity.

Now, I will finally show some screenshots of my project. English 9 was so much fun for me and these types of projects make it so enjoyable to go to school! Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you have a great day!

My Passion!

In this post, I will be sharing with you a topic that I am rather passionate about and would like to share! I do hope you enjoy reading my blog!

I would like to talk about the beautiful game Animal Crossing: New Horizons and how it has helped the players in this pandemic, especially me. New Horizons was released on March 20th, 2020. And I was super pumped up because I am long time Animal Crossing fan! I remember telling my eighth grade teacher about this game and we both discussed our excitement for the release. Of course, back at that time, everyone thought that there would not be an extension to our spring break just because of some virus being spread around… well boy were we wrong. I was rather shocked to say the least when we were told that we would not be returning to class for the rest of the school year, so I had to update my teacher about my animal crossing adventures through our online teams meetings. And when I think back to that time, I now wonder how animal crossing has made such a huge impact during this pandemic. I now question, how did this game help others during this strange time? With my brain filled with knowledge from my researching and my body high on Starbucks’ Sweet Cream Cold Brew, I am ready to answer that question. To start, one of the game creators (Yatsuya Eguchi), has mentioned that this series was partially inspired by homesickness. And when playing, you can really see the aspects of “comfort of your own home” being placed in this game. The game itself is calm, easy and fun, I myself get homesick really easily but I received so much comfort from this game that it allows me to slow down and calms my anxiety. This could be a reason why millions of the games players has expressed their thanks to Nintendo because it gives them peace of mind, which is really what anyone wants during this mentally draining period.

Another reason could be the simplicity. You have many games that forces hard and not very fun tasks upon you to advance. But Sophie Kiel from Granada Hills, California, has expressed that “Animal Crossing is so simple and nice”. And it truly is! From the graphics to its gameplay the best word to describe this game would be simple. You are not forced to do certain tasks and you can make your island how you want it to be. And while we are experiencing things that are definitely the opposite of simple, Animal Crossing acts as an exhale for its players. Allowing them to escape from reality and do easy going tasks that could help make their island even more suitable to their tastes. I could go on and on forever about the games music and graphics but you would be stuck reading this blog for a long time… so I will just list one last reason about how this game really helped its players during the pandemic. Though we cannot see each other in person, Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows us to meet up virtually. And to be extremely honest, this is the best online game that allows players to see each other within the game. I say this because you are not meeting up with your friend online to defeat a boss, find out who is an imposter or brawl them. But you are meeting up to just… hang out. Just hang out, play games, trade furniture and maybe turnip prices (a couple even got married through the game!). And that takes us back to the word: simple. That is what this game is and that is what brings comfort during this hectic pandemic. This game makes me feel much more relaxed and at ease, normally I find it really hard to stick to a game but I have been committed to my island for a long time now. And while this pandemic continues, me and other passionate players will continue to cultivate our islands. Our only worry while playing this game being looming fear of Tom Nook knowing you have not payed your mortgage yet… but that can wait… hopefully.

Thank you for reading! Maybe after reading this post you might consider making your own island!

An assignment from Q1 that I am proud of!

Bonjour and welcome!

In this blog, I will be discussing an assignment from Quarter 1 than I am proud of. In the first quarter of this year, I was in two French classes back to back, needless to say I was a messed up human as I kept switching from English to French at random times in the day. But I will say, I have never enjoyed French classes as much I have this year, even if I completely shut down after my first Final Exam.

Moving on, the assignment that I am proud of most from Q1 is the “Project de Belle Idioms”. I really enjoyed this project because I was able to express my own chosen idiom and explain it. This project was meant to improve our French and help us learn that different countries around the world use different types of idioms and metaphors. During this mini project, I learned about new meanings and I now know French Idioms that I can use in a fluent French conversation.

Here the written part of this project! And no, I will not translate it to English, sorry!

Guidelines for commenting on my blog!

Welcome back to my blog!

In this blog, I will be discussing some of my guidelines for commenting on my blogs. Please read through them before you decide to comment!

1. Use comments to show what you think is important, interesting, controversial, thoughtful.

  • Try not comment subjects that are off the blog topic, instead try adding to the conversation and pose questions.
  • I encourage you to share your opinions, but any comments that are seen to be against any basic human rights, minorities, and Bubble Tea Shops will NOT be allowed. To the people who cannot keep those opinions/ comments, that are against my guidelines, to themselves can visit this site for more information.
  • To add, please keep political comments to a minimum. I might just delete myself if I see any comments about Mr Orange.

2. Constructive criticism only.

  •  I thrive on constructive criticism as a lot of people do!
  • Feedback on my writing style, grammar, post titles and intro sentences is heavily encouraged.
  • With feedback for my choice of topics, please remain respectful. If you think that my topic could be altered in a better way to further prove my point/ allow others to see what I’m trying to express more clearer is definitely allowed! But when it comes to commenting about how I should change the topic completely because you don’t agree with it or have personal opinions against it, please refrain from commenting or if you can, try to word it in a respectful manner.
  • You can try to give me negative/ hateful feedback all you want but what you don’t know is that my self-esteem is completely gone, no words can hurt me as I am the cause of my own destruction.

3. Really long comments are not allowed.

  • Please refrain from long paragraph like comments (which I’m sure will not be problem), but in the scenario if you do actually write a really long paragraph… just don’t. Feel free to make your own blog post in addition to any topic discussed here!
  • I am honestly fine with just a three word sentence.

4. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

  • Super simple and easy to follow!
  • Please try to treat everyone with respect, once again respect each other’s opinions and try to start  good discussion.
  • If you feel as if you cannot follow such a simple rule, please feel free to visit this website and insight yourself on what it means to be nice to someone! This website is a WikiHow and it provides useful information on how to be a nicer person, it even has pictures!

Lastly, if my descriptions were not enough to put in image in your mind of what type of comments I allow and don’t allow, here are some samples!

Good comments:

  • “Great blog! This topic you have discussed has made me think of  few questions…”
  • “This blog is great, but I have a suggestion that could maybe better your future posts…”
  • “Though this blog was written very well, I have some counter opinions that I would like to respectfully share…”
  • Good comments have constructive criticism, respectful messages and peacefully stated opinions.

Bad comments:

  • “This topic is pointless! It’s obvious that these group of “people” are stupid and….”
  • “Could not read this blog at all. Go back to elementary school and actually learn how to type.”
  • “Well my political stand point refrains me from…”
  • “This blog is so good that I am going to write a whole paragraph in this comment to support my side of this amazing topic about Animal Crossing, first I will begin by telling you how the world was created…”
  • Bad comments have negative criticism, hateful messages and viciously stated opinions.
  • Homophobic, Transphobic, Racist etc. comments will NOT BE ALLOWED. Keep any hateful opinions to yourself, it is that simple.

And that’s all!

Thank you for taking the time to read through this disastrous blog, please make sure to look back on my guidelines before you publish anything.  Happy holidays!
