Coding the Micro bit

My partner and I took the liberty of starting to experiment with coding earlier. We need to decide on how many times a day the alarm will go off as well as what times are the most convient. For example, the alarm going off during a busy class isn’t ideal.

We need to figure out how to correspond the LED light with the alarm and how to code that into the micro bit. Since we don’t have a lot of experience with coding, it’ll take a little longer than most and we will most likely take up the entire advisory block to do it. My partner Nada N. has the screenshot and evidence of progress on her post.

Engineering Design Process

A problem many people are facing these days is dehydration. With all the sugary drinks and drinkable liquids, it is easy to forget to drink water.

My partner and I decided that we would try to change our habits and drink more water. The solution we’ve come up with is a bracelet that reminds you when to drink a cup of water. There are multiple alarms set in the bracelet that go off at certain times of the day. Those times depend on the user’s body weight, height, overall health and any special concerns which are set on the day of the coding process. A light goes off from 6-8 times a day that reminds the user to drink a cup of water. Micro bits are compact and can easily fit on most wrists so, why not have a fashionable bracelet that also serves as a healthy habit.

The materials needed for the bracelet are LED lights, stretchy string, a micro bit and a computer to code the micro bit.
