“Design – Create – Tryout – Make it better cycle” 2nd post

Tyler and I are going to make an emergency flash light that is going to be used during a power outage or a blackout. The Microbit will flash light whenever it finds that it is dark and it will help us see better in the darkness.

Design:

  • Light sensors
    • Measures if there is no light in the room and the Micro:Bit acts accordingly to the amount of light. The light sensor gives a value of 0 in darkness and will turn the LED Lights on and the buzzer will sound three times.
  • LED Lights: Lights attached to the MicroBit that can be turned on and off if there isn’t any light in the room.
    • Yellow(It is the brightest color)
  • Micro Maker Board
    • To attach light sensors and LED Lights to the MicroBit.

Make it better:

  • To make this better we are going to also use the buzzer so that the Microbit will buzz about three times whenever it is dark so that the person will know if it is a power outage/black out or not.
