Microbit Project #2 : Design Process

My partners and I met up to discuss our microbit project. One of our concerns is where we would place our microbit in order for it to detect the heat from the oven. We wouldn’t be able to put it in the oven, nor can we leave it too far away from the oven because then it wouldn’t properly detect the heat. We are thinking of potentially placing the microbit on the window of the oven. However, we would then have to discover the difference of heat temperature inside the oven, and on the oven window. On top of that, it can also become difficult to code the difference.

Microbit Project #1

My partners Hannah, Jade and I have decided to create a heat sensor for our microbit project. We wanted to create something that can help people on a daily basis. Therefore, we decided to come up with a sensor that will detect heat in the kitchen. Many people have problems while cooking food, and a common problem is burning/overcooking food in the oven. When the food in the oven reaches a certain temperature, the microbit sensor will make a loud noise, alerting the user to take their food out of the oven. This can prevent overcooked food, wasted food and house fires.
