How Canada Contributes to Yearly GHG Emissions – Infographic

My topic for the infographic project was “Canada’s Yearly Contribution to GHG Emissions”. The goal of my project was to learn more about how much GHG emission Canada releases each year compared to other countries, and to share the information that I learned through an infographic for more people to be aware of our country’s stance in climate change. I got my information from Climate Watch, a reliable online tool that monitors climate change. The tool shows data related to climate change by country or sectors such as agriculture or power. Through Climate Watch, I was able to see which countries cause the most GHG emissions in the world, and how much emission Canada causes compared to others. I learned that Canada was the 10th largest GHG emitter back in 2019. I also searched through the Canadian Government’s official website and confirmed that the statistics were matching (cited below). This project made me realize how much data is open to the public and how easy it is to access them. I believe that through data like these, people can become more educated and aware of current events and learn more about the world we live in through data.
